"It doesn't matter what industry you're in or if you're at the top of your game — women everywhere are paid less than men...It's time to pay women their worth and ensure equal pay for equal work." - Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand

Friend, this is incredible: For the first time ever, the U.S. Women's National Soccer Team are playing in a World Cup where they'll be paid equally with the men's team.

This victory took years of advocacy and organizing from players, fans and elected officials like Sen. Gillibrand. But the fight for equal pay is far from over: Women still make only 82 cents for every dollar earned by a man. This number hasn't risen in more than two decades — and the disparities are even more severe amongst Black and Hispanic women.

After celebrating the USWNT's win, Sen. Gillibrand is continuing the fight for equal pay for all women. She just introduced a resolution to finally certify the Equal Rights Amendment, which would make gender-based discrimination unconstitutional.

The USWNT's bravery and bold leadership proved that it IS possible to win equal pay for equal work. But their journey also showed us just how difficult this work is, and how important it is for every single one of us to make our voices heard.

That's why Kirsten is calling on 25,000 activists to add their names to her NEW Equal Pay for Equal Work Petition before midnight tonight. Please, will you add your name to stand with Kirsten and the USWNT?
