John, take it from me: Electing Democratic governors is the single best way to stop far-right candidates.

I'll explain why in a moment, but first, I want to personally invite you to participate in the DGA's Democratic Governors Priority Survey. Please, will you take a moment now to join this survey before tonight's midnight deadline? Your responses are so critical to informing our strategy for 2023 and 2024.

I won't beat around the bush. We're facing a rising wave of right-wing attacks. Our opponents are working night and day to strip away abortion rights, weaken the right to vote, undermine our democracy, attack LGBTQ+ Americans, and block gun safety reforms.

I know that President Biden and Vice President Harris are doing everything they can to protect Americans from this far-right agenda and move our country forward. But they're up against MAGA Republicans doing all they can to block nearly all progress. Meanwhile, far-right legislators across the country are free to push draconian, dangerous bills – making abortion care a felony, targeting LGBTQ+ kids, and forcing Americans to jump through hoops to simply cast their ballots.

That's where Democratic governors come in. Governors have the power to veto these dangerous pieces of legislation, stopping their extreme agenda. Here in Michigan, we've successfully protected abortion access, passed free school lunches for students, funded public education at historic levels, cut taxes for working families, and so much more.

I'm working closely with the Democratic Governors Association to make sure that we can elect even more Democratic governors in 2023 and 2024. That's why I'm reaching out to some of the most reliable people on this grassroots team to invite them to participate in our new survey – and your name was at the top of that list.
