It was great to announce this spring that Republicans had finally come to the table to help pass long overdue Medicaid Expansion. Getting this done and improving health care options for our state has been a priority as governor.

But part of their deal was unnecessarily attaching enactment of Medicaid Expansion to the passage of a budget in order to gain leverage over Democrats regarding what was included in the budget. Now, even though they have a one-vote supermajority in each chamber, they can’t even agree among themselves on a budget. And they are continuing to refuse to separate the two and let Medicaid Expansion begin.

John, attaching Medicaid Expansion to the budget was always unnecessary and I’m calling on GOP leadership to decouple the Medicaid Expansion from the budget and enact it NOW. Please, sign on to join me >>> [[link removed]]

North Carolinians deserve health care access, and right now, Republicans’ failure to start Medicaid Expansion now is making it even harder for folks to receive care. Some are losing their coverage entirely because of the delay.

It’s also costing our state and hospitals hundreds of millions of dollars.

It’s time for GOP lawmakers to do what they promised and deliver Medicaid Expansion to North Carolina. I urgently need you to add your name beside mine and call on GOP leadership to decouple Medicaid Expansion from the budget immediately >>> [[link removed]]
