John,
I was born and raised in small-town America.
You couldn't think about doing something wrong without somebody already telling your mom.
Small-town life had a big impact on me.
It shaped my view of America and my respect for the values that make our nation exceptional. And when I stepped into public service, especially as governor, I knew I had to represent the rural areas I grew up around. I fought for the people who others forget — the people who know this country is blessed, and bless it further by their hard work.
The biggest reason our country is struggling right now is because too many people have forgotten that love of freedom, powerful faith, and profound community that exist in small towns.
We need those things more than ever across America. Do you agree?
We have to stop poisoning our children’s heads with lies. We need to tell them the truth: That even on our worst day, we are blessed to live in America.
Faith, freedom, and community STILL exist in our small towns, but it’s time to restore these values across America. Do you agree?
