"I hear deindustrialization coming, it's rolling round the bend.  And I ain't seen sane energy policy since I don't know when."

Daily Caller (7/25/23) reports: "Fox Business host Larry Kudlow blasted the Biden administration Tuesday over proposed regulations targeting multiple appliances, including water heaters. The Biden administration proposed new regulations on water heaters Friday, following an effort to regulate gas stoves, while the New York City Department of Environmental Protection proposed requiring wood and coal-fired pizza ovens installed before 2016 to have emission control devices, according to the New York Post. “Folks, enjoy the cold shower you’re headed for. You can turn the dials as much as you want but it will still be even colder,' Kudlow, a former Trump administration official, said 'The big government socialists at the Biden Administration insist on completely ruining our daily lives,” Kudlow continued. 'They’re going after every imaginable creature comfort that used to make America the most wonderful place to live in. Now they will turn us into Europe, which doesn’t even have a lot of this stuff the way we do. What’s this stuff? Well, for starters, how about shower heads, air conditioners, toilet flushing, light bulbs, washers and dryers, dishwashers, refrigerators, gas cars and trucks, coal fired pizza ovens, microwaves and that’s just for starters.'"

"No agency has come closer to claiming virtually totalitarian powers to reshape American society as the EPA has."

We have cobalt in Minnesota but Biden doesn't like mining. Easier to get from Chinese companies, you know, who work with "The Big Guy."

Elements (7/22/23) reports: "Cobalt, an essential component of key chemistries of the rechargeable lithium-ion batteries used in EVs, has seen a significant shift in its global production landscape. The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has long been the world’s largest cobalt producer, accounting for 73% of global output in 2022. However, according to the Cobalt Institute, the DRC’s dominance is projected to decrease to 57% by 2030 as Indonesia ramps up its cobalt production as a byproduct from its rapidly expanding nickel industry."

So Rep. Peters wants the federal government to control local land use?

The return of sue & settle means the departure of rule & law.

Fox News (7/24/23) reports: "The Biden administration quietly entered into a court settlement late Friday with a coalition of environmental groups who have pushed for more wildlife protections from offshore oil development activity. In a stipulated stay agreement filed with the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland, the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) agreed to a number of conditions requested by the coalition of four eco groups led by the Sierra Club which, in response, agreed to temporarily pause litigation in the case. Fossil fuel industry groups, though, blasted the settlement, saying it would hamper domestic energy production. 'This private settlement agreement between the federal government and environmental activists places unfounded restrictions on operations in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico that severely hamper America's ability to produce energy in a region that is responsible for the lowest carbon-intensive barrels in the world,' the American Petroleum Institute (API), National Ocean Industries Association and EnerGeo Alliance said in a joint statement. 'Despite no evidence to warrant this far-reaching ban on operations after extensive data collections, today’s agreement undermines the integrity of legitimate conservation and habitat protection efforts, violates the explicit directives of Congress in enacting the Inflation Reduction Act, and harms America’s energy independence,' the two industry groups added."
