** Going Deeper: A free weekly resource
------------------------------------------------------------

It’s one thing to breeze through an article. And it’s okay to do that! We hope the thoughtful, progressive content in the Century will help our readers navigate important issues of faith and culture, no matter how they read.

But sometimes it helps to really sit with something. To ponder, meditate, pray, or journal. Other times, it can be pivotal to gain insight from a conversation partner or discussion group.

For this reason, we’re excited to introduce Going Deeper: a CC Study Guide. This weekly newsletter will contain links to two articles from a recent or forthcoming issue of our magazine. Along with that content will be a set of questions for personal reflection or group conversation. Whether you want to sit with it in quiet study, use it in a church group, or convene a team of dialogue partners, may this resource help you learn and grow on your journey of life and faith.

Below is a sample of what the content is like in this new email (though it will normally be two articles). Click here to sign up for this free resource! ([link removed])

** The land mourns ([link removed])
------------------------------------------------------------

by Andi Lloyd

** Questions for reflection or discussion
------------------------------------------------------------

1. Have you experienced solastalgia, the pain we feel when we see environmental change in the places we call home?
2. Read Hosea 4:1–3. Why might the land mourn, in Hosea’s day or in ours?
3. What does the earth’s lament look or sound like?
4. Andi Lloyd suggests that religious leaders “can create brave spaces for lament.” Does your worshiping community create spaces like this? What might the next step be for your church to expand its circle of compassion toward creation?
5. Action step: Write out a lament, either your own for the land or from the perspective of the land itself.
