Last month, the U.S. military deployed 1,200 troops with weapons of war to Peru to participate in joint military exercises with the Peruvian armed forces. Next week, on August 5, we invite you to join us for a webinar on "Peru facing the failure of democracy," in which we will be able to better understand the context of the current situation in Peru and the U.S. military's role in the country.

In this 1 hour webinar we will learn more about the recent mobilizations in Peru, in which protesters have been demanding the restoration of democracy in the country, the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Peruvian territory, and respect for human rights of the entire population, including those in rural areas and indigenous peoples.
