Here is today's Kansas Commission on Disability Concerns (KCDC) Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Information Network message.? There is only one entry because it is important.??

The US Department of Justice sent out a message announcing the soon to be published Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) about the Title II (state and local government) responsibilities to improve web and mobile application (app) access for people with disabilities.

I will be out of the office for six weeks starting July 31st and will not be available to send out the Federal Register notice when it is published. I suggest you subscribe to the Great Plains ADA Center [ [link removed] ] and/or the US Department of Justice Disability Rights [ [link removed] ] who will send the link out.??

The message from the US Department of Justice

The Attorney General has signed a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) under Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) that aims to improve web and mobile application (app) access for people with disabilities and clarify how public entities?primarily state and local governments?can meet their existing ADA obligations as many of their activities shift online. The Department of Justice has sent the NPRM to the Federal Register for publication. The Department has published a press release [ [link removed] ] about its proposed rule.

Once published, the proposed rule will be available for review and public comment on the Federal Register?s website at www.federalregister.gov [ [link removed] ]. The Department will send a follow-up announcement once the Federal Register publishes the NPRM.
