I'm writing to you today about what is at stake this November. Virginia still has legal abortion access, but that's at risk of changing.
The Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade has opened the door for states to ban abortion outright. In Virginia, our Republican-controlled legislature is already considering legislation that would do just that.
If this bill passes, it would have a devastating impact on families in Virginia. It would force them to travel out of state to get an abortion, or carry an unwanted pregnancy to term. This would be especially difficult for low-income women and women of color.
Danica is running for Virginia State Senate to fight for reproductive freedom. She believes that every woman should have the right to make her own decisions about her body and her health care.
