John, Barbara Lee has never backed down from a tough fight – because growing up in a world of racism and discrimination, backing down has simply never been an option for her. But I do need to be honest with you about where this fight stands. 

On average, Black women candidates raise just a fraction of what white candidates do – and we're seeing that statistic come to life. But here's the thing: We don't need to raise the most money in this race – we just need to raise enough to win. 

Already, we've made up several points in the polls while raising significantly less than our opponents. Now, Barbara Lee is just three points away from qualifying for the general election. And I know that, with your help, we can get her across the finish line and finally shatter this glass ceiling.

But we're coming up on our next end-of-month deadline in just a few days, and we need a strong showing of support to make sure that we'll have the resources we need to continue our tour across the state next month and spread Rep. Lee's progressive message. So I have to ask:
