Cong. Al Green Recognized by Houston Public Media for Support in Street Name Change

(Houston, TX) — On Monday, July 24, 2023, Congressman Al Green was acknowledged by Houston Public Media for helping Missouri City, Texas change the name of a street associated with a former Ku Klux Klan Grand Wizard in a neighborhood with street names related to the confederacy.

The act of renaming the street serves as a deep reminder of how we have revered the enslavers and reviled the enslaved as well as the need for Slavery Remembrance Day.
