John, when I was young, I never imagined that I’d grow up to be a U.S. senator – let alone just the third Jewish woman senator and the only former synagogue president elected to the Senate.

What I did know was that I wanted to live my life by the Jewish principle of Tikkun Olam – a commitment to making the world a better place than how we found it. This principle drives my fight to deliver for working families, protect reproductive rights, and so much more.
