We are just 3 days from Election Day and I’ve been campaigning in Rankin County this morning and the Gulf Coast this afternoon and evening!
When I announced my campaign five months ago, I was asked by a lot of people why I decided to run Governor. My answer then is the same as it is now.
First, I was troubled that other candidates were not addressing the real challenges facing us right here at home, and second, I was very concerned about our ability as Republicans to win in November given the undeniable political landscape in the general election.
That’s why I’ve made the focus of my campaign about addressing the major issues with conservative solutions—and about my experience and temperament that gives me the best opportunity to win in November.
Education. Health Care. Roads and Bridges. You’ve seen my television ads by now to know I’m very focused on these issues because we can’t stick our head in the sand and ignore Mississippi’s challenges any longer.
Campaigns ought to be about issues and ideas, not soundbites and petty politics—so I hope you’re proud to join our campaign that’s focused on getting things done to make our state a better place for our children and grandchildren.
