John, it’s been just over a year since Dobbs.

Like so many of us, I was devastated and furious on that horrible day, when decades of work by far-right activists resulted in the shocking reversal of our right as women to make decisions about our own health.

In the year since, we’ve seen Republican legislatures across the country curtail abortion access, and we’re seeing the same thing in Congress (more on that in an upcoming email). I believe this setback is temporary. We can restore women’s reproductive health by doing what our opponents did – fighting tactically today and taking strategic actions in the years to come.

In the short-term, we fight back at every step and hold Republicans accountable for pursuing policies that an overwhelming majority of Americans oppose. We call out Senator Tommy Tuberville and hold his colleagues accountable for his actions which risk – don’t just listen to me, listen to our nation’s military leaders – undermining our national security.

And we do the hard work of registering voters and improving our targeting so the right messages are reaching the right people. We restore Democratic majorities a few seats at a time – only five to retake the U.S. House! – and we outwork the other side so we’re better prepared for the next round of redistricting, which will be here before you know it.
