This year is no different: with anti-immigrant Judge Hanen preparing to rule on the future of DACA. So in preparation for yet another anti-DACA decision, our team is looking out for immigrant communities by:
✊ Planning community gatherings so our members can come together in a moment's notice around the country after the decision is announced
📲 Holding a mass community call to share the facts and cut through alarmist headlines and misinformation about DACA
📋 Assembling informational resources so that DACA recipients and undocumented people know their rights and how the decision impacts them
Through it all, we have not forgotten that DACA was never meant to be more than a temporary solution. The truth is, DACA was never enough ❌ — and we need permanent protections now! ✅
UWDA is leading the charge to secure an inclusive, expansive pathway to citizenship by taking our demands to elected officials in Congress and the Biden administration. But we need even more grassroots support by our side to realize our goals for citizenship.
