Dear John,
When I host town halls, I often focus on a specific topic so I’m able to inform our community about the work I’m doing on behalf of all of us and to hear directly from you! I also try to host these public events in different parts of our community so I can be as accessible as possible. Yesterday, we held our 75th town hall in Coatesville, and I truly want to thank everyone who came out!
For my next one, we’ll be covering an issue that is near and dear to my heart — early childhood education and literacy. On Monday, July 31, at Reading Area Community College’s (RACC) Miller Center of the Arts, I will be hosting a resource fair featuring community organizations that will be followed by a town hall. Click here to RSVP.
The resource fair will feature these organizations: Sesame Workshop, RACC, Berks County Intermediate Unit, Opportunity House, Yocum Institute, Literacy Council of Reading, Centro Hispano, Reading Public Library, and Olivet Boys and Girls Club.
At the town hall, I will be joined by Dr. Susan Looney, President of RACC (Moderator); Dr. Jeanette Betancourt, Senior Vice President of U.S. Social Impact at Sesame Workshop; Shante' Brown, PA Deputy Secretary in the Office of Child Development & Early Learning; and Dr. Michelle Reichard-Huff, Director of Early Childhood and Student Services at BCIU. If you are interested in joining us, please let us know here or below with our one-click survey.
