Harris vs. History

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has made headlines for doing what many politicians shy away from. He is aggressively fighting back in the left’s culture war against America. And a big part of that culture war is the left’s attack on our history.

Florida officials reviewed the history curricula that was being taught in the Sunshine State and they rejected it ([link removed]) . Why? Because it was full of anti-American history and critical race theory, which the state legislature rightly prohibited ([link removed]) .

So, state officials called in new scholars, including six prominent African-American historians ([link removed]) , to write a new history program, which includes 191 points ([link removed]) that outline how American history will be taught.

Any fair-minded person would look at that outline and see that it obviously is a complete and total rejection of the sinful institution of slavery.

One of those many points, however, states a historical fact: Even in the horror of slavery, resilient individuals were able to develop skills so that when emancipation took place, they were able to provide for their families and earn a living. After all, there were no government “safety net” programs in the 1870s.

But some leftists, including Vice President Kamala Harris, took that one sentence and grossly distorted it to claim that Ron DeSantis thinks slavery was good for black people.

Harris ([link removed]) told an audience in Jacksonville:

“Extremists here in Florida passed a law, ‘Don’t Say Gay,’ trying to instill fear in our teachers that they should not live their full life and love who they love. And now, on top of all of that, they want to replace history with lies. Middle school students in Florida are to be told that enslaved people benefited from slavery. . . They insult us in an attempt to gaslight us.”

No, Kamala, that’s exactly what you’re doing!

There is no “Don’t Say Gay” law. That’s a lie. There is a robust and popular ([link removed]) Parental Rights in Education law. And the idea that Florida, one of the most diverse states in the country, is trying to impose a history program that is “soft on slavery” is also a ridiculous lie.

Democrat Demagoguery

It’s easy to shake our heads and say, “There they go again.” But it’s much more serious than that. The left is willing to smear and falsely accuse anyone who threatens their power as a “racist,” whether it’s Donald Trump, Ron DeSantis ([link removed]) or Mitt Romney ([link removed]) . The left will even play the race card against Tim Scott ([link removed]) !

Political leadership should be about inspiring people and producing results. Kamala Harris has done nothing about the border crisis. She only knows how to exploit racial tensions for political gain, no matter the damage it does to the country.

Sadly, not one prominent Democrat rebuked Harris for stoking racial tensions and dividing the country. Even worse, plenty of leftists applauded ([link removed]) her revolting lie.

I know many people don’t want to hear this, but this sorry episode clearly demonstrated yet again the extreme difficulty of “bringing the country together” when half of the country cheers such disgusting demagoguery.

Kirk vs. The “Woke” Church

Charlie Kirk of Turning Point USA is doing incredible work presenting the conservative message to young Americans on college campuses, which is a huge “mission field.”

While Kirk is recognized as a strong populist conservative, many people may not realize that he is also a committed Christian. He boldly brings the Gospel message to university campuses where he finds a lot of young Americans are often hearing it for the first time and are open to learning more.

Kirk recently talked with Breitbart News ([link removed]) and addressed one of my greatest frustrations – the lukewarm Church and pastors who avoid the culture war because they are afraid of being “controversial” or “divisive.” Here are some excerpts of Kirk’s remarks.

“We as Christians are not called to be tolerant — and people don’t like it when I say that. But we shouldn’t be tolerant of sin. We shouldn’t be tolerant of rebellion from God. We should have compassion. We have kindness, sympathy, and love. But love without truth is not love.”

“And so, the Christian church has bad theology. They don’t want to offend people. The Gospel is offensive, and because of that, we see a lot of churches that are then taken over by these parasitic left-wing idea pathogens. . .

“The American church is the great xxxxxx against tyranny. Liberty is not man’s idea. It is God’s idea. . . I think without a strong church, the country completely and totally falls apart. . .

“The Book of Deuteronomy is an unbelievably political book, where the Founding Fathers quoted Deuteronomy more than any other author, secular or religious. . . They quoted Deuteronomy because out of Deuteronomy comes the civil law, this idea of separation of powers, an independent judiciary.

“So, if a pastor says [he doesn’t want to talk about politics], they’re not very smart, or they are deciding to be a coward, and I hope they change their ways.”

AMEN!

Biden’s Business

As evidence of the Biden family’s corruption grows, reporters yesterday offered White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre the opportunity to correct the record. Specifically regarding Joe Biden’s claim that he “never discussed ([link removed]) ” Hunter’s foreign business dealings with him.

Jean-Pierre was clearly annoyed by the questioning. She tersely replied ([link removed]) :

“So, I’ve been asked this question a million times. The answer is not going to change. The answer remains the same. The president was never in business with his son. I just don’t have anything else to add.”

Jean-Pierre said she would give the same answer, but this time the answer was clearly different. Notice that she no longer said, “The president never discussed business with his son.” Instead, Jean-Pierre said, “The president was never in business with his son.”

Well, that’s debatable considering Tony Bobulinski’s testimony ([link removed]) about how much the “Big Guy” was involved.

This is a massive shift in Biden’s narrative, and one I expect will lead to many more questions for Ms. Jean-Pierre to stumble through.

Kowtowing To Communist China

Last year, Drug Enforcement Administration chief Anne Milgram ([link removed]) made a shocking statement that did not get nearly the attention it deserved. During an interview with ABC News, Milgram said that the drug cartels in Mexico were getting the drugs to make deadly fentanyl from communist China.

To stop deadly fentanyl from coming into America, you’ve got two choices: Secure the border or kowtow to communist China, hoping Beijing’s communists will control the drugs there.

But because Joe Biden refuses to secure the border, the Wall Street Journal ([link removed]) is reporting that the administration is now considering making massive concessions to get Beijing’s cooperation to stop poisoning our citizens.

This is blackmail!

China is demanding that Biden lift sanctions on the Ministry of Public Security’s Institute of Forensic Science. The Trump Administration imposed sanctions on this communist security agency for its complicity in “widespread human-rights abuses against ethnic Uyghurs and other minority groups in the Xinjiang region.”

The attitude of any American president should be: Stop the flow of drugs or we’re going to double the economic sanctions!

Your Feedback

We had a HUGE response to our request for feedback on the 2024 presidential race. Thank you to everyone who took the time to participate and share your thoughts with me!

The results were not terribly surprising and broke down in a similar manner to virtually all the current polling.

Former President Donald Trump finished in first place by 51 points over Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who was the only other candidate to break double digits in our survey.

Rounding out the top five were entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, former Vice President Mike Pence and Senator Tim Scott.
