Dear fellow MoveOn member,
News flash: If you ban books and censor what educators can teach, outlaw abortions, and stop people from voting, you're not the party of "limited government."
Do you know the real reason MAGA extremists are banning books and censoring educators? Because the biggest threat to the Republican Party is a multiracial democracy of young people unafraid to speak truth to power.
That's Generation Z.
By 2028, millennials and Gen Z will dominate U.S. elections.1 They'll have the power to wipe out the old guard and usher in a wave of progressive policies.
Which is why the GOP is trying to suppress K-12 education now.
That's what's really at stake here. And, John, it's up to us to ensure that the next generations learn the full truth about our nation's past and build a multiracial coalition powerful enough to enact transformational change.
And that's why I just love MoveOn's Banned Bookmobile, which has been traveling from state to state to fight book bans and censorship, while celebrating the freedom to learn and to read.
Will you join me in starting a monthly gift of $5 to keep MoveOn's Banned Bookmobile on the road and to power MoveOn's campaigns to fight back against MAGA extremism?
No, I'm sorry, I can't make a monthly donation.
MoveOn's Banned Bookmobile Tour started in Florida and now has been to Illinois, Wisconsin, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia—including a stop in the hometown of Toni Morrison, the celebrated author whose books "Beloved" and "The Bluest Eye" are among the ones most frequently banned by MAGA extremists.
MoveOn has been partnering with local bookstores and educators, librarians, community leaders, and activists. They're giving out thousands of banned books, raising awareness about MAGA book bans through extensive media coverage of the tour, and bringing hope to communities that, together, we will not allow MAGA extremists to censor our books, whitewash our history, silence our librarians, and punish our teachers.
The Banned Bookmobile traveled back to Florida yesterday for an event in the state capitol. And, right now, that's the end of MoveOn's tour!
But I heard from the MoveOn team this week, and, if they raise the resources, they will absolutely extend the tour and keep the Banned Bookmobile on the road.
MoveOn relies on grassroots donations to fund all they do, so it's up to us. Will you join me in rushing a monthly gift of $5 to extend and sustain MoveOn's Banned Bookmobile Tour and keep fighting MAGA extremism?
No, I'm sorry, I can't make a monthly donation.
Thanks for all you do.

Want to support MoveOn's work? Book bans have skyrocketed thanks to right-wing state laws which have forced teachers to remove books from their classrooms. In response, MoveOn is launching a "Banned Bookmobile," filling it with books that the far right has banned, and driving it around to hand out those books, for free, in highly trafficked areas that will attract media attention. To keep the Banned Bookmobile up and running into 2024, MoveOn needs your help.
Will you start a monthly gift to power MoveOn's critical work?
No, I'm sorry, I can't make a monthly donation.
