Children with complex medical issues may not be able to find the specialized care they require within their home state. In cases like these, parents must work with health care providers and state Medicaid officials to find out-of-state care.

This is a difficult and lengthy process full of bureaucratic red tape that often leads to delays in getting these children and their families the care they need. In fact, it sometimes results in the denial of care all together.
