John, we thought we'd seen it all from the NRA's lapdogs in Congress. But Lauren Boebert just won't stop.

Last week, I passed out pins honoring 10-year-old Uvalde victim Maite Rodriguez to members of Congress with our friends at Lives Robbed, an organization founded by the parents of children murdered at Robb Elementary in Uvalde, Texas. It was a simple gesture reminding folks that, one year later, we still haven’t done enough to protect kids from gun violence.

But what did Rep. Lauren Boebert do? She shook her head and threw the pin honoring Maite in the trash.

Now, did we expect a resounding show of support from an AR-15-loving congresswoman who owned a gun-themed restaurant called Shooters Grill? No. But this heartless response showed us just how little she truly cares.

Now, she’s back on Twitter sharing a weak apology and sharing “her side” of what happened with weak excuses for her callous actions. John, we can't change a mind that closed off to common decency and compassion. So we've got to replace people like Boebert with leaders who WILL listen to us and take action.

Lauren Beobert cannot silence our voices. Together, our movement will carry on Maite’s legacy so no parent ever has to lose their child to gun violence.

Thanks for supporting our collective movement.

In solidarity,

Sarah Fishkind
