** 🏆 Winners of the 2023 UN SDG Action Awards Announced!

The winners ([link removed]) of the 2023 UN SDG Action Awards were announced at a live ceremony ([link removed]) in Rome, Italy, on 24 July during the UN Food Systems Summit+2 Stocktaking Moment, hosted by the Government of Italy and the United Nations. The Ceremony celebrated changemakers and initiatives that drive transformative action around the world and featured performances by international artists Inna Modja, Italian superstar Mr. Rain, Cill, as well as the unveiling of a digital artwork by internationally acclaimed artist Foodmasku.

The 2023 winners are:

🏆Mobilize Winner: World Cleanup Day ([link removed]) is celebrated for its work in coordinating global one-day waste cleanups that have rallied over 70 million people from more than 190 countries.

🏆Inspire Winner: Green Obsession ([link removed]) is acknowledged for its work changing city paradigms and emphasizing urban forests as a priority for governments around the world, ensuring a greener future for all.

🏆Connect Winner: Signpost ([link removed]) is the world’s first scalable approach to running digital, community-driven, and responsive information platforms in countries where people are impacted by conflict, disasters, poverty, and violence.

🏆Changemaker Winner: Nery Santaella ([link removed]) reached over 600,000 Venezuelan immigrants through her Voices of Venezuela initiative, which gives refugees access to crucial information that allows them to survive and succeed in host countries.

Honourable Mention was given to UN IFAD Goodwill Ambassadors Sabrina and Idris Elba ([link removed]) ,for their work in propelling the role smallholder farmers play in global agriculture into the media spotlight.

The finalists ([link removed]) were selected from over 5,000 applications from 190 countries and reviewed by an esteemed panel of 28 judges ([link removed]) . The 2023 Winners now join an illustrious set of UN SDG Action Awards alumni ([link removed]) and will ally with the UN SDG Action Campaign for the 2023 Global Week ([link removed]) during which more than 150 million people will be mobilized around the world to drive action for the SDGs.
