John, earlier this year we reached out to sound the alarm about a strategy from right-wing extremists to deliberately spread Spanish-language disinformation to Latino voters.
Now, it's clear that this strategy isn't just cynical — it's downright hypocritical. That's because out of the 12 Republicans running for president, only one has even bothered to translate their website into Spanish.
Voto Latino's CEO and founder, María Teresa Kumar, offered a simple explanation in a recent Vox interview:
“[Republicans] recognize that in order to win a primary they need the base Republican voter, and that base Republican voter sadly identifies with the Trump party more than anything . . .
Doing a hat tip of any kind to Latinos would actually be counter-brand to white nativist movements.”
In other words, Republicans are willing to spread misinformation to our communities in an effort to win our votes — but they have no interest in showing public support for Latino voters.
Voto Latino is working across the country to register and mobilize young Latinos so we can defeat MAGA hypocrites and elect leaders who reflect our values.

John -- Since 2020, Spanish-language disinformation deliberately targeted at our communities has been a growing problem. And it might get even worse:

For years, our communities have been bombarded by false information and political conspiracy theories. Voters have been subjected to higher levels of disinformation than ever before, with campaigns consistently targeting communities of color and Spanish-speaking audiences.
Now, Americano Media, a new media company founded by a former Trump campaign surrogate, is looking to create a right-wing media juggernaut with stations across the country directed at Latino voters. So far, the company has announced plans to spend $20 million on drawing in new viewers.
Americano Media's goal is to create a version of "Fox News in Spanish" that will allow them to spread far-right ideas and disinformation to our communities year-round. If we don't respond, their plan just might work.
Voto Latino is working to combat this kind of cynical strategy in communities across the country so that voters can be as informed as possible, no matter what language they speak. Will you pitch in now to support our voter outreach work? ([link removed])

Thank you for your tireless support!
