This message is from the US Access Board. Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 deals with the federal requirements for all technology purchased by the federal government must be accessible to employees and/or the public. While state and local governments are not required to comply with Section 508, most are making this a practice. Accessing the archives is free, but you must have an account which is also free.

Section 508 Best Practices Webinar in Archives: A Tale of Three Agencies: The Section 508 Playbook
The U.S. Access Board’s Section 508 webinar on examples of policies and strategies in developing Section 508 plans was earlier this week, but if you missed it, the webinar recording and presentation materials [ [link removed] ] are available in the archive. In this 90-minute webinar, representatives from the Social Security Administration, Veterans Administration, and the FDIC reviewed resources, such as the Section 508 Playbook, to show how agencies, at any stage of their program maturity level, chart a more progressive path forward. This archived webinar includes video remote interpreting (VRI) and real-time captioning. The webinar series is hosted by the ADA National Network in cooperation with the Board.
