The Center for Health Policy and Media Engagement at the George Washington University School of Nursing Health invites health care professionals, senior level journalists, policy analysts, and researchers to apply for the health policy and media engagement fellowship. Fellows will focus on a specific policy area relevant to nursing. Deadline: March 1.
New – Nominate a Reporter Who Cites Nurses as Sources
Nurses are underrepresented as expert sources in the media. The Center for Health Policy and Media Engagement at the George Washington University School of Nursing hopes to change that with its GW Nursing Journalism Award, recognizing excellence in reporting by journalists using nurses as key sources. Deadline: March 15.
New – Pursue Research Focused on Hispanic Children, Families
The National Research Center on Hispanic Children & Families invites advanced doctoral students and early career scholars to apply for its 2020 Research Scholars Program. The program supports those who are pursuing research that promotes the well-being of Hispanic children and families. Deadline: March 18, 5 p.m. ET.
New –RWJF Diversity Program Funds Postdoctoral Research
The Harold Amos Medical Faculty Development Program seeks applicants from the medical, nursing, and dentistry field who are from historically disadvantaged backgrounds (defined as individuals who face challenges because of their race, ethnicity, or socioeconomic status). The program is supported by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Deadline: March 18, 3 p.m. ET.
New –AARP Community Challenge Goes for Local Change
Organizations are invited to apply for the 2020 AARP Community Challenge, proposing Ideas that can help communities become more livable for people of all ages. Projects are sought—none is too small!—for ways to improve housing, transportation, public spaces, technology, and more. Deadline: April 1, 11:59 p.m. ET.
The doors are open to applications for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s four leadership programs: Clinical Scholars, Health Policy Research Scholars, Interdisciplinary Research Leaders, and Culture of Health Leaders. Hosts Sought for Regional Meetings on Complex Care
After it wrote its blueprint to help those with complex needs, the National Center for Complex Health & Social Needs was asked to guide others in creating coordinated systems of care at the local level. That is why it will hold six regional meetings in 2020, and invites organizations to apply to host. Deadline: February 29.
Honor Your Contributions: Apply for AARP Purpose Prize
Did you see a problem and create it a solution? Consider applying for AARP’s Purpose Prize, which celebrates the creativity, innovation, and inspiration that life experience brings. It is awarded to those 50 and older who are creating significant impact at the local, regional, national or global level. Deadline: March 31.
The Health and Aging Policy Fellows Program aims to create a cadre of leaders who will serve as change agents in health and aging policy to ultimately improve the health care of older adults. If you have a strong commitment to health and aging issues and in policy work, apply to fellow. Deadline: April 15.
Students Invited to Apply for Complex Care Training
Knowing how to better care for people with complex health and social needs takes training. Now is the chance to join some 600 students from 40 schools across the U.S who have been trained through the Interprofessional Student Hotspotting Learning Collaborative.
