There are fewer than 2,000 grizzly bears remaining in the lower 48 states—and they could lose their protections under the Endangered Species Act, threatening their survival.

Grizzly bears have long been sought after by trophy hunters, simply to display their hides as rugs or mount their heads on walls. As a result, they were almost driven to extinction in many parts of their range before they were granted protection under the Endangered Species Act. Despite this, their populations are nowhere near recovered.

Our hope is that if we share how special grizzly bears are, we can inspire more people to help protect them in the wild and save them from extinction.
