Hey John —
The odds are good that you know about someone who uses medical marijuana. A growing number of people use cannabis medically every year in states where it’s legal. North Carolina could soon be among them.
Josh knows we need to legalize medical marijuana — but we need to do it the right way. That means including strong protections for kids, restricting advertising, and putting NC farmers first. He also supports decriminalizing simple possession and expunging past convictions for simple possession.
Now, he wants to know if you agree: Should North Carolina legalize medical marijuana and decriminalize simple possession?
Legalizing medical marijuana will help treat people suffering from Alzheimer’s, epilepsy, AIDS, ALS, nausea caused by chemotherapy drugs, and more. That’s why 38 states and D.C. already have. It’s time for NC to move into the future and do the same.
Decriminalizing the simple possession of marijuana will also have a huge benefit to North Carolinians. Right now, around 30,000 people a year are arrested for simple possession in our state, bogging down our legal system and hampering those folks’ ability to succeed in the future.
John, legalizing medical marijuana in the right way can grant much-needed relief to patients, while bringing new opportunities to North Carolina farmers.
Take Josh’s poll below to let him know if you agree:
Should NC move forward on reforming the laws around marijuana?
Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts!
