Can I be honest with you, friend?

I hate sending emails like this. Seriously, if I could go without it, I would (just ask my finance director). That's why I won't beg you to donate, but I will lay out the facts: 

My potential GOP opponent – Mitch McConnell's handpicked candidate – outraised me in the first week of his campaign launch. And shortly after, a GOP dark-money group rushed to officially endorse him.

McConnell and his allies flooded Nevada's last Senate race with a staggering $55 million (only to come up less than a percentage point short of winning), so they're bound to drop a fortune into this race to defeat me. That means we need all the support we can get if we're going to fend off their attacks.

Our midnight fundraising deadline is just hours away, but we're on track to fall short of today's $20,000 goal – which would leave us vulnerable against Brown, McConnell, and their wealthy allies. So with Senate control hinging on keeping Nevada blue, I have to ask:

Please, will you chip in $5 or more now – every dollar makes a difference – to help me fight back against the GOP, win in Nevada, and defend our Democratic Senate majority?
