Hi friend,
We have just one week left before FCC Chairman Pai closes public comment
on his disastrous plan to sabotage Lifeline — and I saw that [ [link removed] ]you
haven’t had a chance to take action.
We need
your help. For countless low-income families and communities of color,
Lifeline offers the one affordable way they can access educational
opportunities, apply for jobs, or even contact emergency services. We’ve
witnessed so many ways that affordable internet access can make a huge
difference:
* Susan, a Los Angeles resident who experienced a period of
homelessness, told us she had to track down an internet connection
just to find a shelter.
* Lourdes, a senior citizen, struggles to afford a mobile internet
connection, but she needs one to find work as a caregiver.
* Fifth-grade teacher Melissa said lack of home-internet access puts
many of her students at a disadvantage, with all testing and many
educational resources available only online.
[ [link removed] ]Please
add your voice today and protect this program that means
so much to millions of families.
Taking Lifeline away from people like Susan and Lourdes, or from children
like those in Melissa’s class, could mean taking away their jobs, their
access to education, their connection to lifesaving support.
Please [ [link removed] ]take a few minutes now to protect this critical program, and
fight against the Trump administration’s war on the poor.
Thank you.

Dear Friend
It’s an insulting and insidious attack on anyone who has ever been on the wrong side of the digital divide ...
Right now, Trump’s FCC is trying yet again to sabotage the Lifeline program — one of the only programs that helps people living in poverty access essential phone and broadband services they need to find jobs, pursue educational opportunities and make lifesaving calls for help.
We don’t have much time to save Lifeline, and we need your help. The FCC is only accepting public comments until Feb. 25 — please sign our petition today and tell the FCC not to disconnect poor people.

Since 2017, the Trump administration has been trying to gut the Lifeline program. Free Press and people like you have fought back — and won — every step of the way. But this FCC simply will not give up, so we can’t either.
Now, FCC Chairman Ajit Pai is at it again, trying to kick as many people off the program as possible. And he’s only accepting public feedback on Lifeline until Feb. 25.

Please take a moment today to sign our petition demanding an end to the FCC’s attacks on Lifeline.

For anyone who has been on the wrong side of the digital divide, this program offers exactly what it says it is: a lifeline. For many, losing this program could mean losing access to education and jobs. We need your support today to help keep this essential program alive.

Thank you for all that you do,
