Dear John,

We hope that you and your family are having a happy and healthy summer. As we gear up for back-to-school, we wanted to share a few recent news stories highlighting Parents Against Vaping e-cigarettes and our wonderful volunteers fighting to protect kids from e-cigarettes and the predatory behavior of the tobacco industry.

Winna Morrin and her son Alex share their Florida family's struggles with youth vaping on the CBS Evening News on July 21, a report that includes new CDC figures that show one-in-ten young adults, ages 18-24, are vaping (though the data is from 2021). At fifteen, Alex became addicted to nicotine and began suffering terrible seizures. With Winna's help and constant support, 20-year-old Alex is now rebuilding his life!

A July 14 National Public Radio (NPR) report features New Jersey volunteer Nancy Heredia-Villanueva describing her confrontation with a local gas station owner selling illegal flavored vapes to neighborhood kids, including her own daughter. PAVe cofounder Dorian Fuhrman discusses the dangers of unregulated Chinese disposables and the urgent and timely need for stronger FDA enforcement.

Meredith Berkman, PAVe cofounder, praises NYC for its landmark legal actions against four distributors providing illegal flavored vapes to retailers at a City Hall press conference with Mayor Eric Adams on July 10. Hopefully more cities will follow New York's example.

Please consider making a donation today so we can continue our important work educating families and protecting kids. We truly appreciate your support!

Sincerely,

The PAVe Team
