The Rush to Admit Israel into the U.S. Visa Waiver Program is Baffling and Insulting

Shortly after we went to press, Israel and the U.S. signed a memorandum of understanding ([link removed]) facilitating Israel's entry into the Visa Waiver Program (VWP). James Zogby argues the agreement dumbs down " the standard terms to which Israel must comply to gain entry into the VWP because they cannot otherwise  meet them." This, he said, "both violates the statutory requirement of full reciprocity and is an insult to the citizenship rights of those Arab Americans who may still be subjected to discriminatory treatment at entry and exit."
