Birthdays are good for taking stock: what have I done with the last year, what do I want to do in the year to come, and what do I need to get there?
GGWash is celebrating 15 years in 2023, so we’re taking stock at work too: over 15 years, GGWash has shifted the conversation about what’s possible. We’ve seen local governments gradually turn toward building more housing and great, sustainable transportation systems. We’re looking ahead to how much work remains, and how we’ll get there.
GGWash is mainly about people, and that’s why I’m reaching out to ask for your support. We’re creating space for more people to live here, advocating for safer, better ways for people to move around, and building connections among people who care about all of the above.
Lately when I meet new people in our region and tell them about our work, they instantly get it: a home where, as Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo articulated, you can let go of your child’s hand, because it’s safe for them to explore. GGWash is one of my homes, too: a place where, every day, I spend time with thoughtful, forward-looking people. We hire great people and they do great work. Our 500+ recurring donors make that possible.
