[ [link removed] ]A headline from Politico detailing the recent Supreme Court ruling on
how state elections are run.

We secured another major victory against the Big Lie.

Last year, the U.S. Supreme Court agreed to hear oral arguments in a case
that claimed state legislatures have complete control over their election
laws, with no oversight from the courts. This case was a direct threat to
our fair, transparent, and free elections. That’s why I got involved and
filed a brief to the Supreme Court defending our democratic process.

I don’t have to tell you how dangerous it could be if lawmakers had
unchecked power over election rules, including gerrymandering and
Pro-Trump legislatures appointing their own MAGA Presidential electors.
It’s not an exaggeration to say that our democracy was at stake in this
case.

Thankfully, our brief was successful. The Supreme Court agreed
with us and rejected this anti-democratic and extreme theory.

Unfortunately, this won’t be the last time we need to defend our
democracy. With your support, we can work together to ensure that every
Washingtonian’s right to free and fair elections remains protected.
