47 Years of Roe v. Wade

On January 22, 1973, 47 years ago, the United States Supreme Court issued the landmark decision Roe v. Wade, making clear that the U.S. Constitution protects a woman’s right to decide whether to have an abortion. In the years since, anti-abortion lawmakers and activists have fought to gut the scope of its protections. And, now, the Supreme Court is poised to hear a case – June Medical v. Gee – that not only threatens critical rights but raises questions about the legitimacy of the Supreme Court itself.

Trump’s Attacks on Our Justice System: 2017 – 2019

This report offers a retrospective on Trump’s transformation of the courts over his first three years in office, specifically highlighting how the process accelerated during 2019. Explaining both what has happened to the courts and how, the report details the numerous ways that Senate Republicans have abandoned the Senate’s norms for the confirmation process so that they could fast-track Trump’s nominees, even over the objections of home-state senators.
