Run for Something

Hi there --

Last year, we did something kind of crazy: We spent more than $100,000 on ads in Texas. We advertised across the state, looking for people who might not otherwise consider themselves potential candidates for office. Then we reached out to every single person who signed up to learn more to guide them through their options and connect them with mentors & young candidates who could give them a real sense of what it means to run for office as a twenty- or thirty-something.

Well, good news: According to the Houston Chronicle, 22% of 288 candidates running for Congress, state legislative, and other state-level elected positions from Houston and San Antonio areas are millennials -- including some of the more than 25 candidates for state house who signed up via Run for Something.

Having cash on hand matters. When you donate to Run for Something, we don't take your money and sock it away in our savings account forever and ever; we put it to work where it's needed most.

If you can give $25 today, we'll put it to work right away; that's my promise. Government can be good when the people running our city councils and state legislatures and school boards are good. We just have to give them a chance:

If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:

Thank you,
