New from Politico: Across the board, grassroots fundraising is down nearly
50% compared to the first half of 2021.

John, if this
trend continues, we could see the influence of corporate PACs and big
check donors increase, as campaigns who rely on grassroots donors (like
ours) struggle to compete against the millions wealthy donors and PAC
checks can provide.

Here’s the truth, John. I’ve
never taken a dime from corporate PACs, but my opponents have spent
decades in Washington collecting and saving their checks. I was only able
to compete against nearly ten million dollars in super PAC spending last
year to defend our House seat because of small dollar donations.

I’m so proud of the grassroots team we’ve built. People like me, a single
mom and relative newcomer, wouldn’t be in office without you.

Look, I know some fundraising emails can be annoying at best and spam at
worst. I’ve intentionally built our email program to be different: sharing
with you what I’m doing in California and in Congress, explaining why we
