Team, last month the Supreme Court upheld the Voting Rights Act and affirmed a district court opinion that struck down Alabama’s congressional map for illegally diluting the power of Black voters.

It was a HUGE victory for our grassroots movement – and A.G. Eric Holder predicted the decision would “have an impact far beyond the borders of Alabama.” That prediction is already coming true.

The Supreme Court has already paved the way for Louisiana to redraw its congressional map – and pending litigation in states like Georgia and Florida could lead to similar outcomes.

That means we have an opportunity to secure a level playing field in 2024 by defeating gerrymandered maps in states all across the country.

But our challenge is that Republicans are still going to do everything they can to keep their gerrymandered maps in place. If left unchecked, GOP lawmakers could obstruct, stall, and drag their feet to avoid having to redraw their manipulated maps before 2024.

That’s why it’s critical for the NDRC to continue working across the country to protect our fair maps victories, prevent GOP gerrymandering, and propel fair redistricting. Will you rush a donation now to help support our efforts?
