Last week, gun control advocates handed Rep. Lauren Boebert a pin featuring the green Converse worn by a 9-year-old victim of the Uvalde mass shooting.
Seconds later, she threw it in the trash.
I spend every day worried about my sons. I know they could be next.
The Uvalde elementary shooting took the lives of 19 children and two dedicated teachers, but gun violence victims don’t matter to NRA-backed lawmakers like Boebert and my opponent, Mike Simpson.
Simpson has accepted thousands in gun lobby contributions, and he called the NRA’s endorsement an honor.
So it was no surprise to me that Simpson (like Boebert) voted NO on Republican Senator Marco Rubio’s bipartisan gun reform bill that was inspired by the Uvalde massacre.
You and I both know he’ll be catering to the NRA again this cycle.
There is something truly despicable about protecting special interest groups over the lives of our children. I promise that when you send me to Congress, my top priority will be you, your family, and their safety.
David Roth is a single, gay dad running for Idaho’s Second Congressional District. We’re going up against a GOP incumbent who has been in this seat for almost 25 years. It’s time for change in Idaho, and our grassroots campaign is building on the momentum that began in David’s race for U.S. Senate last cycle. The GOP is not planning to defend this seat, so we plan to take it from them and help Democrats retake the House majority next year. We’d love your support to build a solid campaign to bring progress to Idaho and the country.
