It’s a match made somewhere south of heaven.
Donald Trump is coming to Colorado this week to campaign for Cory Gardner. What better way to reward the senator’s loyalty?
Trump being Trump, the rally will likely feature some of the President’s greatest hits—all of which Gardner has indulged:
-
“Build the wall!” When Trump declared a fake national emergency and stripped funding from Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado Springs to finance his border wall, Gardner sided with him.
- “Send her back!” When Trump told four congresswomen of color to “go back” to where they came from, Gardner refused to condemn the President’s racism.
-
“Witch hunt!” When Trump asked a foreign leader to interfere in our elections, Gardner stonewalled the press, blocked witnesses and documents, and voted to acquit him.
It’s no wonder the President is so fond of Colorado’s junior senator.
The rally is not Gardner’s only reward: last fall, as impeachment loomed, Trump issued an urgent fundraising appeal—imploring his donors to bankroll the senators who stood with him. So Gardner rakes in millions while we pay the price.
Enough is enough. It’s time to tell Cory Gardner: “You’re fired!”
