Dear john, |
Did you get a chance to read our recent message about the ongoing crisis in Haiti? In case you missed it, here’s the short version: We are prepared to send 284,120 life-saving meals to patients at New Hope Hospital, but we still need $11,079 of our $14,250 goal to cover shipping and customs fees. Read our full update about this critical situation below — or if you're ready to take action to support children, mothers and the elderly in Haiti, please give now. In partnership with Dr. Maklin, MD, Director of New Hope Hospital, we are so grateful for your support. --------------------------------Forwarded message------------------------------ From: Rise Against HungerSent: February 4, 2020To: VolunteerSubject: Crisi in Haiti... |

Rise Against Hunger is entering its third year of supporting New Hope Hospital in Haiti with life-saving medicine and food aid. Dr. Eugene Maklin, MD, Hospital Director of New Hope Hospital, is asking for additional support from global neighbors like you to keep their operations running during this difficult time. “The Republic of Haiti has experienced an unprecedented socioeconomic situation. The Health sector is hit hard and the vulnerable population is starving. New Hope Hospital, which serves a population over 250,000, quickly faces emergencies that exceed its operating limits. The community health service at the Hospital, which is responsible for the nutrition program, has failed to meet the needs of families, especially the malnourished kids, inpatients, pregnant and breastfeeding women and elders. Today, despite the return to certain normalcy, we continue to face serious problems, hence the need to seek additional aid that can support the most vulnerable people." |

Can you support us in helping the people of Haiti? We need $14,250 to cover shipping and customs for 284,120 meals to be delivered to patients at New Hope Hospital. Every dollar you give means health and nutrition for a child, parent or elderly person receiving medical assistance. |
