A coalition of 11 Tribes are calling on President Biden to permanently protect 1
million+ acres of the greater Grand Canyon region, preserving their homelands
and important cultural relics. The proposed Baaj Nwaavjo I’tah Kukveni national
monument contains ancient settlements, camps, and rock carvings – some more than 10,000 years old!
But President Biden hasn’t issued protections yet, and the clock is ticking!
Greedy companies mining for URANIUM – and it’s already contaminated drinking water and scarred the land! More destruction is on its way if President Biden doesn’t protect these Tribal
homelands and the Grand Canyon region. Stop greedy companies from mining uranium around the Grand Canyon! Add your
name by 11:59pm TONIGHT!

[[link removed]]The Baaj Nwaavjo I’tah Kukveni national monument would honor tribes’ deep
cultural connections to the Grand Canyon. Baaj Nwaavjo means “where tribes roam”
and I’tah Kukveni means “our footprints” to the Havasupai and Hopi Tribes,
respectively.
These communities are most directly and intensely impacted by uranium mining –
from contaminated groundwater to toxic air pollution and destruction of treasured
lands. And that’s not to mention the abandoned mines that cost taxpayers MILLIONS of
dollars to clean up. The bottom line: uranium mining is bad for people, land, and wildlife and YOU can help stop it.
Friend, will you help amplify Tribal demands and tell
President Biden to permanently protect the Grand Canyon region? >>
