Friend, this week, I joined Senate Democrats in reintroducing the Freedom to Vote Act.

I’m proud to be a cosponsor of this important bill, and I hope you’ll give me a chance to explain why it’s so important — especially now — to pass this legislation and protect our democracy.

This bill is our chance to pass sweeping protections to our democracy, to safeguard the right to vote, end gerrymandering, and to push back against the growing onslaught of voter suppression bills in states across the country.

It includes some of the same proven reforms that I helped implement as California’s Secretary of State to make our elections more accessible and more secure — reforms that all of our Senate colleagues should support to ensure a healthy democracy.

But the sad fact is that Republicans are uninterested in protecting the right to vote. They’d rather maximize their own power at the expense of the majority. So I’m asking for your help to demonstrate that the American people overwhelmingly support these common-sense reforms to our elections.

Friend, will you add your name as a citizen co-sponsor of the Freedom to Vote Act? We should be making it easier, not harder, for Americans to participate in our elections.
