Approximately 10% of New Yorkers struggle with food insecurity.
Earlier this week, I was honored to visit the NY Common Pantry and see the work they’re doing to solve this problem by eliminating food deserts and getting meals to New Yorkers.
Their work is proof that when non-profits and elected leaders work together, we can accomplish incredible things for this state.
Here are some of the ways New York State is committed to addressing food insecurity:
- We've doubled the buying power of SNAP benefits
- We're investing in HPNAP and Nourish NY
- We're providing free breakfast and lunch to all students in qualifying schools
We are working hard to ensure that New York continues to alleviate food insecurity for New Yorkers – together we’ll ensure that no one gets left behind in our state.
Thank you for your support.
