John,
On Friday, we marked 100 years since the Equal Rights Amendment was introduced to enshrine gender equality in the Constitution. Equality is overdue!
Cori Bush is re-energizing this 100-year struggle, taking the work over the finish line in Congress to protect people seeking abortions, queer and transgender people, women of color, and other marginalized people.
As a Black woman who has had an abortion and experienced domestic violence, sexual harassment in the workplace, unequal pay, and blatant gender discrimination, Cori knows the impact constitutional equality will have on millions of people across the country.
Please sign now to call on Congress: Recognize the Equal Rights Amendment as the 28th Amendment to the Constitution without further delay. We must cement abortion as a permanent, constitutional right and secure constitutional equality for people of all genders and sexual orientations.

The Equal Rights Amendment would advance pay equity, address sexual harassment and violence, protect our reproductive autonomy, and prohibit discrimination against LGBTQ+ and pregnant people.
As attacks on abortion and trans people are on the rise, the Equal Rights Amendment is a constitutional amendment for our times, and desperately needed to protect those most on the margins.
From the start, people like Cori Bush and many of her constituents were intentionally written out of our nation’s founding document. The absence of foundational equality allows discrimination to persist and injustice to fester.
But we’re so close: Our movement has already met the requirements to make the ERA the 28th Amendment. The ERA was passed by 2/3rds of Congress and it has now been ratified by 38 states. We only need a few more steps to make it official!
Please sign the petition to tell Congress: Equality is overdue. Recognize the Equal Rights Amendment as the 28th Amendment to the Constitution without further delay.
Thank you. Cori will not rest until our rights are fully recognized and affirmed within the text of the Constitution itself.
In solidarity,
- Team Cori
