Republicans in the State legislature continue to hold Governor Josh Shapiro's feet to the fire on reversing his support for school choice programs that Pennsylvania desperately needs. Shapiro came into office as a proponent of school choice, it was part of his narrative that he was willing to listen to Republican's common-sense solutions. But now that his liberal base is in an uproar, Shapiro has pulled the rug out from under thousands of young Pennsylvania students who stood to benefit from these programs.

We are also closing in on the crucial judicial elections coming this November 7th. The most important race will be for Pennsylvania Supreme Court. The GOP nominee is Carolyn Carluccio and we must do everything we can to set her up for electoral success. We're also supporting Harry Smail Jr. and Maria Battista for Superior Court and Megan Martin running for Commonwealth Court. We have 109 days left until Election Day!

PAGOP also continues to build on our Mail-in-Voters program and our Retire Bob Casey fund. If we want to be competitive in 2023 and 2024, and beat the Democrats, we have to own the mail-in-voting game!

Promising to bring commonsense, balance and visibility to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, judicial candidate Carolyn Carluccio visited Lycoming County on Friday, where she introduced herself to voters ahead of the Nov. 7 general election.

As Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas President Judge, Carluccio, who is campaigning as a Republican, first stopped by the Sun-Gazette for an interview with the editorial board before attending an arts festival at State College and then later, a meet-and-greet at the fairgrounds in Hughesville. Too many students in Pennsylvania are trapped in underperforming schools. Regardless of how hard these students try or how much their parents care, these children are unlikely to receive the quality education they deserve simply because they are trapped in the school district their address dictates — the address their parents can afford.
