Well, since I sent that email less than three weeks ago, we’ve topped it — not once, not twice, but seven more times. This is officially the hottest month in recorded history.

You likely didn’t need me to lay it out like this — we’ve all felt the intense heat, seen our energy bills skyrocket, and breathed in the smoky air from wildfires. Folks who work outdoors are suffering serious health consequences.

But unless we end the reign of climate-deniers in Congress and usher in a new generation of pro-science leaders who will handle this like the emergency it truly is, we’ll continue to set records.
