Earlier this week, I opposed the National Defense Authorization Act after extremist House members hijacked the bill with partisan messaging amendments, sacrificing the safety and well-being of our country and its people to score political points. I’m ready for House Democrats to flip the House in 2024 and get back to putting people over the politics — join me by making a contribution to my campaign.
The NDAA, in its current form as passed by the GOP House, is ultimately harmful and counterproductive to America’s well-being and our military readiness.
This bill is often passed with broad bipartisan support. But during debate on the House Floor, the NDAA was drastically changed by poison pill amendments that focus on culture war issues instead of supporting our servicemembers.
These added amendments would create a harmful environment for women and minority servicemembers and their families and would compromise the readiness of our military. I’m hopeful that the Senate will restore the bill to its original, bipartisan form and prioritize our military servicemembers and their families.
