Nolan Center for Justice Advocates for Retroactive Application of Sentence Reduction Policy |
Frank Russo of CPAC's Nolan Center for Justice appeared in Congress before the Sentencing Commission to argue for the retroactive application of Part B of the Criminal History Amendment. The amendment would reduce sentences based on criminal history and recidivism potential of inmates, and CPAC, consistent with its commitment to criminal justice reform that respects the dignity of inmates and advocates for public safety and limited government, supports the extension of this policy to current inmates rather than restricting it to future inmates. The Nolan Center for Justice also published a letter addressed to the Sentencing Commission that extrapolated on the center's position on the item. |
