“We can reduce taxes while making record investments in education, law
enforcement, and behavioral health. With a $3.6 billion surplus in Virginia’s
state budget, we must live in a world of ‘and,’ not ‘or,’”said Governor Glenn
Youngkin.

Being a parent isn’t easy; across the Commonwealth, we are having a
conversation about being a parent – and not only our responsibility but our
rights to raise our children consistent with values that reflect us, not
politicians or bureaucrats. In Virginia, #ParentsMatter.

This week, the Governor and First Lady hosted the outgoing class of Governor’s
Fellows for a celebratory farewell reception at the Executive Mansion. With
internship placements throughout the Executive Branch, the Governor’s Fellows
Program provides opportunities for outstanding college and graduate students
from across the Commonwealth to gain hands-on experience in state government
operations. With National and Virginia Intern Day just around the corner, we
celebrate the impacts these 37 Fellows have made in their summer of service and
look forward to hearing about their future endeavors.

Summer is a fantastic time to explore Virginia’s natural beauty, as captured
by Helen Crighton’s painting ‘James River: The Rapids’. On loan from Richmond’s
Valentine Museum and displayed in the Executive Mansion as part of the Art
Experience, the painting reminds visitors of the River’s enduring role in
Virginia’s #homehistory and encourages viewers to experience its natural wonder
in person. To view ‘James River: The Rapids,’ visit the Executive Mansion from
10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays, or head to the Executive Mansion’s
website to learn more about the Art Experience!
