Friends,

I hope you and your family are well! I wanted to provide you with a few updates regarding what’s going on –

Holding a Reckless Administration Accountable

This week, the House Judiciary Committee took another step in building a strong case against against the Biden Crime Family with evidence that the FBI knew and had possession of Hunter's laptop, convinced social media companies that Hunter's laptop was Russian disinformation and that they intentionally withheld information from social media companies. It's time Director Wray answers as to why the FBI was engaging in a concerted effort to interfere in the 2020 election.

Whistleblowers Tell All

We also saw two seasoned IRS agents came before the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability this week to testify about the Department of Justice's interference in the investigation into Hunter Biden's felonious actions. I think it's important we ask why U.S. Attorney Wolfe refused to ask Hunter's associate about the "ten held by H for the big guy."

Joe "The Big Guy" Biden says he's never been involved in Hunter's business deals, but lead agent Joseph Zieglar says "the big guy" is none other than Hunter's dad—the one person Attorney Wolfe refused to ask about during the investigation.

Remember, no one ever raided Hillary's home for her private server. No one executed search warrants on Joe Biden's home during IRS investigations when evidence existed where Hunter said he was with Joe "The Big Guy" Biden when doing "business" with the Chinese. However, the FBI was not worried about "optics" when they raided President Trump's home. We must end the two-tiered system of Justice that protects the elites connected to Joe Biden.

Restoring American Energy Leadership Through Nuclear Innovation

This week, I held a hearing to continue bipartisan work to accelerate the expansion of American nuclear technology. If we are to succeed in restoring our nuclear leadership and succeed in reaching nuclear energy goals, America's regulatory system must operate in reflection of this fact. On the Energy, Climate, and Grid Security Subcommittee, we are working to advance durable and bipartisan policies that will expand nuclear energy and its many benefits for our nation. This week’s hearing is the next step in ensuring the relevant laws and policies are up to date to allow us to reach the next step in nuclear energy innovation and development. Examining Emerging Threats to Electric Energy Infrastructure

During this week’s Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee, we examined emerging threats to electric energy infrastructure to ensure that we have a strong energy grid. As we saw with the recent Colonial Pipeline cyberattack, our industrial control systems (ICS) are vulnerable to our adversaries. On the Energy and Commerce Committee, we are working hard to secure our power grid. The House version of the NDAA this year included my amendment that authorizes the secure transfer of data and technology under DoD’s More Situational Awareness for Industrial Control Systems or (MOSAICS) Program to local electricity providers, which will have a huge impact on federal cybersecurity. Click HERE for my remarks and questioning during the Subcommittee hearing this week.

Saving Taxpayer Money Through Cutting Back Federal Agencies

It's vital Congress examines every line item in the budget to find ways to save taxpayers money. This week, I did just that in the Energy and Commerce Committee when I introduced an amendment to H.R. 4420, the Preparedness and Response Authorization Act, that saves American taxpayers $65 million. The amendment that passed in the Energy and Commerce Committee on Wednesday strikes funding increases to the public health agencies that failed us during COVID, as they forced masking and COVID shots while politicizing science on the American people. Why would we reward bad behavior with more money?

Israeli President Addresses Congress

This week, I was grateful to be able to hear from Israeli President Herzog as he addressed Congress on Wednesday. I will always stand with and support Israel, our friend, ally, and beacon of freedom in the Middle East.

H.R. 148 The Justice Act of 2023

The Sound Of Freedom movie opened the eyes of countless Americans to the harrowing reality of child trafficking. The sexualization of kids is rampant and must be stopped! That’s why I’m fighting to ban child sex abuse dolls and robots from being imported to the US. I’m proud to sponsor H.R. 148 the JUSTICE Act of 2023 to stop groomers from getting these obscenities. Great Britain and Australia already banned them. What are we waiting on?

South Carolina Peaches in Washington, DC

This past Tuesday was our annual Peach Day on Capitol Hill! Georgia may claim the name of the Peach State, but South Carolina leads the southeast in peach production and has the sweetest peaches in the country (in my opinion). Thanks to Titan Farms for delivering peaches to the Capitol to bring a taste of South Carolina summer to Washington!

Legislative Action

I cosponsored H.R. 4751, Rep. Chip Roy’s bill to ban the use of federal dollars for the purpose of funding the Special Presidential Envoy for Climate.

I cosponsored H.R. 4727, Rep. Josh Brecheen’s bill to exclude immigrants with a deferred status from federal health plans.

I cosponsored H.R. 4595, Rep. Bob Good’s bill to revoke the National Education Association’s Federal charter.

I cosponsored H.R. 4587, Rep. John Rutherford’s bill to prohibit the Administrator of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration from issuing any rule for South Atlantic closure until the South Atlantic Great Red Snapper Count study is complete.

In the District

Since Bud Light went woke and partnered with transgender activist Dylan Mulvaney, consumers began boycotting the brand by refusing to purchase the beer. Of note, sales of Bud Light tanked the most in South and North Carolina. Great job South Carolina!

Congratulations to fellow angler, Logan Overholt, on catching a rare albino catfish in Lake Russell! With such a great catch at only 13, Logan has a lot of great casting in his future.

This week, countless students at the USC Union Laurens campus were honored for their hard work and dedication. Congratulations to the 135+ students named to the USC Union's President's List or Dean's List for Spring 2023!

It is an honor to serve the Third District of South Carolina. Should you or your family need assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact my office directly.

Blessings and Liberty,
