John,
Today is Cori Bush’s birthday, and it marks exactly 100 years since activists unveiled the Equal Rights Amendment to affirm gender equality in the Constitution.
Black, queer, and trans women have been instrumental in ratifying the Equal Rights Amendment in 38 states. Now Rep. Cori Bush is leading the movement in Congress to cement the 28th Amendment in the Constitution and protect our fundamental rights.
As Cori said, 100 years is too long to wait for equality. We need equal standing under the law now. As with all of her work, Cori’s advocacy for gender equality centers the people on the margins -- including Black and brown women, LGBTQ+ people, and people seeking abortion care.
Can you donate $47 today to celebrate Cori Bush’s 47th birthday, or $100 to mark a century in the movement to affirm gender equality in the Constitution? Anything you can chip in makes a difference in our advocacy for equal rights.

Constitutional amendments -- like the Equal Rights Amendment -- are more long-lasting and powerful than legislation, which can shift depending on who’s in power.
We’re seeing how fast laws can change in just one year: Cori’s constituents in Missouri live in a state that has banned abortions and banned lifesaving gender-affirming care for minors as well as incarcerated adults and Medicaid patients. People who can afford it are forced to travel hundreds of miles for necessary healthcare.
This is a moment of crisis, with attacks across the country on our fundamental rights to make decisions about our own bodies.
But when we work together, we are powerful beyond belief.
Please donate today to mark Cori’s birthday and build our urgent movement for equal rights.
